Year Restriction & Destination

Shipping

Inspection (Vietnam Customs)

  • • Once the vehicle arrives, it must be inspected by Vietnam Customs.
  • • The inspection includes: Checking the automobile import license.
  • • Verifying the bill of lading.
  • • Reviewing the customs declaration for both import/export.
  • • Physical inspection of the vehicle to ensure compliance with regulations.

Used Car Import Rules & Regulations

  • • Right-hand drive vehicles: RHD vehicles are allowed to be imported into Vietnam.
  • • Age Restriction: Imported vehicles cannot be more than 5 years old from the manufacturing date.
  • • Ownership requirements: The current owner must be the original owner; if the vehicle has changed ownership since the original title was issued, the vehicle cannot be imported into Vietnam.
  • • Minimum mileage: The vehicle must have been driven for at least 10,000 kilometers.
  • • Vehicle registration abroad: The vehicle must have been legally registered in the owner's home country for at least 6 months prior to export.
