import, aligning with the Swiss driving system.
Destination Port: Geneva and Zurich are the primary hubs for automotive entry
into Switzerland.
Shipping Logistics: Shipments via container take approximately 34–41 days with
a weekly schedule from Japan.
Road Traffic Office & Licensing
1. Technical Inspection
All imported vehicles must undergo a mandatory technical inspection at the cantonal road traffic
office to ensure compliance with Swiss safety and environmental standards.
Importers must provide an official Exhaust Test Document (Abgaswartungsdokument - AWD) and a
valid Swiss insurance certificate.
2. Registration Forms
A completed Form 13.20A (declaration form) must be submitted along with the foreign vehicle
license and customs declaration during the licensing process.
