General Information & Import Rules

• • Who Can Import: Private individuals and registered businesses.
• • Drive Orientation: Left-hand drive (LHD) vehicles are standard and permitted for importation.
• • Mandatory Inspection: Vehicles that are 10 years or older must undergo an official roadworthiness test every 12 months.

Shipping & Logistics

• • Destination Port: Tallinn.
• • Shipment Details: Approximately 36–42 days.
• • Vessel Schedule: Weekly frequency.

Duties & Taxes

• • Customs Duty: Applicable on all vehicle imports.
• • VAT: Standard tax rate of 7.5%.
• • Consumption Tax: Calculated at 4% of the vehicle’s assessed value.
• • Registration Report Fee: An additional CHF 15 fee is required for the registration report.

Required Documentation

• • Official Application Form and Expertise Act.
• • Pre-registration Roadworthiness Test Certificate.
• • Proof of Ownership and Vehicle Registration Certificate.
• • Vehicle Type Certificate and Sales/Transfer Documents.
• • Original Customs documentation and all other relevant legal papers.
