Andorra Import Regulations

Age and Type Restrictions

• • Vehicle must not exceed 5 years from the date of manufacture.
• • Must be left-hand drive.
• • Must comply with European emission standard Euro 5 or higher.

Taxes & Fees

• • Import tax (IGI): 4.5% of the market price for all cars.
• • Additional fee: 10% for vehicles purchased or manufactured outside the EU.

Vehicle Requirements

• • Must have Andorran insurance.
• • Technical inspection certificate from the country of origin is required.
• • Vehicle must have a technical certificate and homologation.

Required Documents

• • ID card and passport of the vehicle owner.
• • Proof of residence in Andorra and registration in the local “Comú” (municipality).
• • Original invoice of the car and Andorran insurance policy.
• • Certificate of technical inspection from origin country.
• • Vehicle technical certificate and homologation.

Practical Notes

• • Importing a car to Andorra is allowed and straightforward if the above conditions are met.
• • Cars from climates different from Andorra may not perform optimally in winter conditions.
