General Information

Age Restriction: All imported vehicles must generally be no more than 8 years old (with stricter limits for specific vehicle types).
Drive Side: Right-hand drive vehicles are permitted for import. Left-hand drive vehicles are also allowed but must be re-exported after the completion of their tour.
Destination Port: Dakar is the primary shipping port for Senegal.
Shipping Logistics: Shipments via RORO take approximately 34–44 days with a monthly schedule.

Detailed Age Restrictions

1. Private & Passenger Vehicles

Must be no more than 3 years old from the original registration date OR 4 years old from the year of manufacture.

2. Commercial Vehicles

Must be no more than 5 years old from the original registration date OR 6 years old from the year of manufacture.

Inspection Requirements

Pre-Delivery Inspection: All used vehicles must undergo a thorough pre-delivery inspection in Japan before being shipped.
Arrival Procedure: While there is no mandatory arrival inspection, ensuring compliance during the pre-shipping phase is critical to avoiding delays at Dakar customs.
