Used Car Import Rules & Regulations

• • Age restriction: Only vehicles manufactured in 2015 or later are eligible for import.
• • Inspection: No specific inspection is required on used vehicles imported into Myanmar.

Shipping Details

• • Destination port: Yangon.
• • Shipping method: Container shipping (RORO also available).
• • Shipping time: 13-22 days for container shipping.
• • Vessel schedule: Weekly.

Duties & Taxes

• • 0-1350 cc: Customs duty 30%, commercial tax 25%, road test registration 50%.
• • 1351-2000 cc: Customs duty 40%, commercial tax 25%, road test registration 80%.
• • 2001-5000 cc: Customs duty 40%, commercial tax 25%, road test registration 100%.
• • 5000 cc and above: Customs duty 40%, commercial tax 25%, road test registration 120%.

Special Considerations

• • Diplomatic/UN vehicles still require MoFA customs clearance with proper documentation for duty-free entry.
• • Standard clearance may take around 7 days upon arrival at Yangon port if all documentation is in order.
