General Information

  • Age Restriction: Vehicles must be no more than 3 years old from the year of manufacture.
  • Drive Side: Only right-hand drive (RHD) vehicles are permitted.
  • Destination Port: Victoria is the primary port of entry for Seychelles.
  • Shipping Logistics: Shipments via container take approximately 28–39 days with a monthly schedule.
  • Required Use: Vehicles must be for private passenger use only.

Returning Resident & Graduate Policy

  • Only returning residents (absent for ≥2 continuous years) or returning graduates (studied abroad for ≥9 months) who are 18 years or older can import a used vehicle.
  • One vehicle per person is allowed. If the individual moves overseas again, no second-hand vehicle import is permitted later.
  • The vehicle must enter Seychelles within 6 months of the resident/graduate taking residency.

Vehicle Restrictions

  • Permitted Types: Passenger cars only (under HS code 8703 or 8711).
  • Prohibited Types: Forklifts, trucks, cranes, bulldozers, graders, excavators, and chassis fitted with engines.
  • No Sectioning: Nose-cuts, front-cuts, and rear-cuts are strictly prohibited.

  • Bill of Entry (in duplicate).
  • Original Invoice/Receipts and Bill of Lading.
  • Packing List / List of Goods in Cargo.
  • Copy of Passport (showing latest entry and exit for 12+ months).
  • Import Permit and Proof of Ownership.
  • Copy of Driving License.
  • For Graduates: Letter from organization or proof of study recognized by the Ministry of Education.
