Importing from the UK (Non-EU after Brexit)

  • • Pay import duties + 19% VAT.
  • • Required documents: V5C registration certificate, invoice.
  • • Vehicle must meet EU emission standards and Cypriot registration rules.
  • • Vehicle inspected by the Department of Road Transport (DoRT).

Importing from EU countries (Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, etc.)

  • • No import or customs duties.
  • • Only pay registration fees and local vehicle tax.
  • • Vehicle must pass a technical inspection (MOT).
  • • Receive Cypriot number plates (white).
  • • Additional fees possible based on engine size, CO2 emissions, and car type.
