Fiji Import Regulations
General Information & Import Rules
- • Age Restriction (Standard): Petrol and diesel vehicles must be a maximum of 5 years old from the date of manufacture.
- • Age Restriction (Special): LPG, CNG, Solar, Electric, and Hybrid vehicles are permitted up to 8 years old from the date of manufacture.
- • Customs Approval: Importers must obtain official approval from Fiji Customs before the vehicle is shipped.
- • Quarantine Inspection: Every vehicle must undergo a mandatory inspection to ensure it is free from pests and diseases.
Shipping & Logistics
- • Destination Ports: Lautoka and Suva.
- • Shipment Details: Approximately 34–44 days via RORO.
- • Vessel Schedule: Monthly frequency.
- • Required Inspection: JEVIC certification is mandatory for importation.

Duties, Taxes & CC Levies
- • Import Duty: 32% of the total invoice value.
- • Excise Duty: Standard 15% rate.
- • VAT: Standard 15% rate.
- • High CC Levy (2500–3000 CC): An additional $7,500 levy applies.
- • High CC Levy (> 3000 CC): An additional $20,000 levy applies.
Required Documentation
- • Official Quarantine and Agriculture Clearance.
- • Original Vehicle Registration and De-registration Certificates.
- • Original Purchase, Export Cost, and Freight/Insurance Invoices.
- • Odometer reading verification at both Export and Import.
- • Passport copy and Original Bill of Lading (BoL).
