Bahrain Import Regulations

General Information & Importers

• • Drive Orientation: Left-hand drive vehicles allowed.
• • Allowed Importers: Bahraini citizens, registered Bahraini companies, licensed dealers.
• • Not Allowed: Tourists cannot register vehicles.
• • Inspection: Physical inspection at port and technical inspection before registration.

Shipping & Restrictions

• • Age Restriction: Maximum 5 years old.
• • Shipping & Delivery: 22–31 days; weekly schedule.

Customs Duties & Taxes

• • Customs duty: 5% of CIF (Cost + Insurance + Freight).
• • VAT: 10% on CIF + duty.
• • Other fees: Customs processing, vehicle inspection, and registration fees.
• • Exemptions: Diplomatic missions and eligible international organizations may get duty & VAT exemptions.

• • Bahrain has stable regulations administered by Bahrain Customs and General Directorate of Traffic.
• • Compliance inspections are mandatory before registration.

• • Original Export/Deregistration Certificate.
• • Bill of Lading and Commercial Invoice.
• • Packing List.
• • Passport & CPR (for individuals).
• • Company CR & authorization (for businesses).
• • Vehicle VIN and Insurance certificate.
• • Customs declaration form.
