Vehicle Import Rules & Regulations

• • Left-Hand Drive (LHD) vehicles are allowed to be imported into Oman.

Duties & Taxes

• • Import Duty: Vehicles are subject to an import duty of 5-10% of their value (except for motorcycles).

Required Documentation

• • Certificate of Title, Registration & Purchase Invoice (from Japan).
• • Copy of Passport.
• • Driver's License & Insurance Policy (must be obtained 24h prior to arrival).
• • Authorization Letter from the Ministry of Commerce in Oman.
• • Power of Attorney for the Destination Agent.
• • No Objection Certificate (NOC) from employer (if applicable).

Import Process Overview

• • Permission: Shipper's agent applies for permission from the Ministry of Commerce.
• • Insurance: Must be obtained at least 24 hours before arrival in Muscat.
• • Customs Clearance: Begins once all documents (NOC, Authorization Letter, etc.) are filed.
• • Green Form: Issued after clearance; must be submitted to Royal Oman Police.
• • Registration: Handled by the Royal Oman Police after customs clearance is completed.
